Sam Kioni Roberts (He/ They) is an artist and theatre-maker who moved to Leipzig from London in March 2023. He joined ETL only a few months later. Sam specialises in directing for the stage, but does not believe in being just ‘one thing’ when it comes to making theatre. He has written for the theatre, performed in devised and improvised shows, developed a drag persona, sung in musical performances and performed live comedy. In the UK, he founded two theatre companies focused on producing experimental and exciting theatre and live-art. In ETL he is a member of several committees, namely Funding, Events and Workshop Planning. He is happy to offer dramaturgical advice to members and participants who are wanting to make their own theatre. Outside of the theatre, Sam is currently writing a detective novel and dreams of one day owning and running a bakery/ bed and breakfast with his husband.
