ETL’s Playhouse is open!
We are thrilled to announce the launch of ETL’s Playhouse, an exciting new initiative from English Theatre Leipzig! Starting April 2025 we offer a programme of regular workshops designed to explore different themes related to theatre-making and performance. Workshops will be conducted in English and are open to everyone, no previous experience necessary.

Looking for a relaxed, playful introduction to theatre? “Yes And…” invites you to jump into a world of creativity, spontaneity, and fun. A relaxed, fun workshop focused on theatre games and light improvisation, open to everyone. No theatre experience is needed — just a willingness to play, explore, and have fun while picking up foundational theatre skills.
Pay what you can (suggested: € 5 – 20). We never want to exclude people who can’t pay – even if you feel this is beyond your means, do come along anyway!
Writers’ Group
Writing workshops for beginners and experienced writers alike.

Whether you’re an experienced writer or trying your hand for the first time, our Writers’ Group offers a supportive space to develop your scripts and new ideas for stage performance.

Playwriting Workshops with Augusta Supple
This immersive playwriting workshop offers a hands-on, energizing experience for playwrights, theatre-makers and storytellers of all levels. you will engage in creative exercises exploring character, structure, conflict, dialogue, and theatricality under the expert guidance of Augusta Supple.
Augusta Supple is an award-winning theatre director, playwright, and creative producer. Known for her dynamic and collaborative approach to new work, Augusta has commissioned and produced over 200
plays – creating works that celebrate multiplicity, thematic layering, and bold experimentation.
➔ Only on May 26th and 27th, 17 – 21:30.
The workshop will be held in English and is open to Playwrights at any stage of their career.
Pay what you can! The workshop fees are on a sliding scale between 10-30€.

ETL is also preparing to host staged readings and scratch nights, coordinated by Peter Hubbard and the Events Committee. These events will offer a chance for participants to showcase their work-in-progress pieces before a supportive audience of ETL members and friends.
Please Note: This list is not exhaustive. More workshops and opportunities will be added as Playhouse continues to grow. We aim to offer at least two sessions per month, and a full workshop calendar will be available soon.
